Is low key horrified when you stand up from the couch after watching a movie and you stretch and pop your back not once, not twice, but a total of five times before you relax. Even if he’s managed to school his facial features, there’s fear in those blue eyes. It makes his spine itch where it’s connected to his carapace. If your cuddling with him and your back makes that god awful noise, he might just flinch since he wasn’t expecting it.

Raphael

Raphael loves how flexible you are, could watch you twist and bend your spine and limbs for hours if you’d let him. You’ve got a wider range of motion than he does, and it fascinates him. Unfortunately, the first time your back pops, he will retch if he recognizes the sound. Don’t do it on purpose, he will eye you like you’re about to fall apart if he hears the sound coming from your spine

Donatello

Is actually the calmest about hearing your back pop. He knows it’s a release of tension and pressure, your bones flexing at the end of their tendons. He’s likely to just sit and watch you, fascinated despite the way it makes his own shell itch. He might ask you questions about how it feels or if it hurts, if it feels the same as your other limbs popping. Might get you started on a supplementary oil if he notices you pop a lot of joints.

Michelangelo

Mikey calls you his little drum kit after hearing your back let out a particularity loud pop. He thinks it’s funny, watching Raph and Leo try and fail to hide how it freaks them out. He might even try to pop his own back, enlisting Donnie’s or Raph’s help to pick him up and shake him. Neither does. If you catch him off guard he will shiver uncomfortably at the sound though.

If for some reason you want to be completely evil, the next time Casey comes down to the lair ask him to pick you up and pop your back. He will be banned for the foreseeable future. You will be in big time turtle trouble. But their faces might actually be worth it

Wilder/Raph is 17 almost 18

Shelly/Donnie is 17 1/2

Christie/Leo is 17 1/2 but a lil younger

Austen/Mikey is 16 almost 17

So they are close in age but just off based on what order they asked when their birthday was.

Mushy Personal Emotion Turtles

So, as you can tell, I absolutely adore the Rise iterations of the turtles and April. I'd like to take this time to expound on just how much they mean to me, though.

The Mad Dogs' significance to me ties into my sibling relationships. I only have one biological brother, but I could make a case for there being two sibling figures in my life--my brother, and one of my cousins who may as well have been an older sister to me. My histories with both of them are rocky.

My brother has been part of my life for as long as I can remember; he's only a year younger than me. I've spent nearly all that time bickering with him and sometimes getting into more intense fights. It was at its worst when he was about 10 to 16 years old, so when I was about 11 to 17. We're doing better now. I think we've learned to appreciate each other's company more since we've both gone off to college. But having such a negative force in my life for so long was...not fun, to say the least.

Then there's my cousin. We used to play together all the time. When we were old enough to set up our own email addresses, we emailed each other basically all day, every day. It was fun at first, but something turned our relationship toxic. I'm still not quite sure what the catalyst was. She cut off contact with me after a particularly brutal argument, and I did not cope with it well at the time. At all. This happened during an already difficult time in my life, so I was a total mess. I'm doing better now, but it's not perfect. Family gatherings where I see her are still awkward even though this happened several years ago. I want things to go back to how they were, even though I know it was terrible for my mental health. It's awful. Every time I think I'm over it, I break down crying whenever the topic comes up.

In summary, even though I've always had at least one sibling figure present in my life, my relationships with them have almost always had some sort of strain on them.

This is where the turtles come in.

Seeing the turtles just...be brothers, with April as basically their sister, really struck a chord with me. I really wanted that in my life. For once, I just wanted to have a nice, normal, relaxed sibling relationship. Do they have silly arguments sometimes? Yeah. Do they have some major disagreements? Of course. But they always stand up for each other in the end. They never get into fistfights with the intent to seriously hurt each other. They never intentionally ignore each other's achievements. They love each other to the core.

I started joking with my friends that I'd "adopted" the turtles and April as my siblings, but then I decided to take it just a bit further. For fun, I did some tarot readings to determine what my relationships with them would be if they were my siblings.

First, I checked to see if they'd even accept me as a sibling. My deck has you draw three cards for a yes or no reading; the answer depends on how many "no" cards you draw. All three cards I drew indicated "yes." :)

Then, I drew individual cards for each unique sibling bond.

April: Queen of Swords

Indicates strength and resilience. I took this to mean a close, trusting bond.

Raph: Three of Cups

Represents comfort and fun. I feel like he'd be my "big little brother," protecting me just like the others even though I'm older than him.

Leo: The Hanged Man

Symbolizes uncertainty and limbo. It isn't a lost cause, but there would be the least trust between us.

Donnie: Seven of Pentacles

Stands for dedication and potential. We'd be loyal as all heck to each other, and we may even enble each other to excel.

Mikey: Nine of Cups

Represents support and love. We'd hang out a lot and get each other through tough times.

It wakes up abandoned on a train and everything that moves wants to kill it on sight. Poor thing's first human emotion is gonna be fear and its cortisol levels will be the highest ever seen

So, for each tmnt series, who do you ship with who? Just curious!

I am a pretty basic and predictable bitch when it comes to shipping. I always ship me some April X Casey in just about every universe.

As a child watching the OG cartoon, I was so moved when Mikey and Kala had to say goodbye to each other, I have been shipping them ever since. I have a 2003 version and a Bayverse version of Kala, but both are humans from Earth instead of being from Dimension X.

And then I kiiiinda ship 2003 Leo and Karai. But not in the happily ever after sense. More in the 'there were feelings and it was complicated and we had to go our own ways' sense.

And then, of course, my ultimate blorbo, Mona Lisa. I will ship my lizard girlfriend with any turtle at any time in any universe. She is my emotional support character and seeing her care about the boys whether platonically or romantically and them caring about her just brings sunshine and warm fuzzies into my life.

Though I do want to stress I'm not one of those people that can't handle when others have different likes or pairings than I do. If you have different OTPs we can still be friends. If you have OCs, we can still talk about turtles together. I am a 'let people enjoy things' type of person and not about trying to ruin anyone else's good time with my personal preferences.
